SUMMARY OF POSITION:
This role offers an exceptional experience for new RN graduates to continue to learn and grow in their nursing career while assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care to a variety of patients. Graduate nurse residents are expected to commit to full-time employment for a year, as well as actively participate in all learning opportunities that are offered. Please note that monthly start dates are available.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
Graduate nurse with a Temporary Practice Permit or Registered Nurse with license to practice professional nursing in the state of Pennsylvania by start date.
BLS required prior to orientation completion.
UNIT DESCRIPTION:
Medical/Surgical is a 48 bed telemetry capable unit, serving adult patients with both medical and post-surgical diagnoses. We are the unit of choice for Orthopedic surgery, Urology, General Surgery, and medicine patients, with various consulting services. Our nurses are trained in cardiac rhythm analysis and certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and NIH Stroke Scale assessments.

Penn State Health Hampden Medical Center brings acute inpatient medical services to communities in Cumberland, Perry, and York counties. The facility, features 108 private inpatient beds and an attached outpatient medical office building.
