·AdventHealth Heart of Florida is a licensed 193-bed acute care hospital, coupled with outpatient services including imaging, rehab, lab and wound care, that has been serving the community for over 50 years.

The role you’ll contribute:
The RN provides direct patient care to pediatric through geriatric patient populations.Addresses the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment.S/he communicates with surgeon and anesthesiologist continuously and as needed about patient condition, assists with the maintenance of surgical equipment and inventory, and participates in performance improvement activities.S/he assesses operating room for equipment functioning and readiness, obtains supplies for individual cases and ensures all appropriate needs of surgical operating team are met. Works closely with interdisciplinary team/DBC/Materials to assure specialty service lines (Ortho/Vascular/GU/GYN/Podiatry/General/Robotics) to facilitate care to our surgical patients. Monitors, positions and assists patient during procedure.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
·Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and communicate patient care needs for the pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
·Performs initial nursing assessments. Documents findings within identified time frames and activates initial plan of care.
·Act as a clinical resource for perioperative services personnel within the specialty using professional guidelines and evidence-based standards.
·Communicates with other staff, nurses, vendors, physicians and administrative personnel regarding any needed equipment/items and also assist with any problems/issues
·Works collaboratively with staff inside and outside respective departments.
·Maintains clinical skills and performs as staff person when needed.
·Documents patients’ progress in the medical record on a regular basis including assessment and management plans.
·Safely administers medications to patients according to hospital policy and procedures. Conducts second nurse verifications. Reconciles medication on admission and transfer.
