Cardiac Surgery Progressive Care: The Cardiac Surgery Progressive Care Unit (CSPCU) is a 24-bed telemetry unit that provides care to adult patients requiring pre- and post-operative care for heart surgery. Members of the CSPCU nursing team care for patients who are one or more days removed from cardiac surgery. Patients on the unit will have undergone invasive open-chest procedures including: coronary artery bypass (CABG), heart valve repair/replacement, heart and lung transplants, Ventricular Assist Devices (VAD), and more. Patient care involves working with the interdisciplinary team to progress patients through the care plan by providing top-of-its-class nursing, respiratory, and physical therapy care to patients so they can ambulate and recover from their surgery.

Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Competent evaluation with successful passing of probation; current on all mandatory classes/training.
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Maryland, or eligible to practice due to Compact state agreements outlined through the MD Board of Nursing, is required.
- Maintenance of 10 contact hours of education/year.
- Member of a professional organization.
- Recent applicable clinical experience in a comparable setting
