Phoenix Children’s is hiring a Nurse Scientist to advance nursing research and innovation within our organization. This role will mentor clinicians in research and scholarly work, support study design and dissemination, and contribute to building a robust nursing research infrastructure. Ideal candidates bring a blend of academic rigor and clinical relevance, with a passion for developing others and translating research into meaningful improvements in patient care.
The Nurse Scientist provides scientific, methodological, and scholarly expertise to advance nursing research, evidence-based practice (EBP), and innovation across the organization. The role focuses on design, mentorship, analysis, dissemination, and translation of new knowledge into practice, aligned with organizational priorities and Magnet expectations.
Education
Doctoral degree in Nursing (PhD or DNP with strong research focus). (Required)
Experience
Two (2) years of experience in nursing research, scholarship, or academic practice. (Required)
Demonstrated experience in: Research design and methodology, data analysis and interpretation, scholarly writing and publication. (Required)
Experience mentoring clinicians or students in research or EBP. (Required)
Experience in a pediatric, academic, or quaternary care environment. (Preferred)
Certifications
Current Arizona RN license or compact license with eligibility for AZ licensure. (Required)
National nursing certification (e.g., NEA-BC, CPN, CNML, CCRN) or obtained within 1 year. (Required)

Scholarly writing and presentation expertise. (Required)
Ability to translate research into clinical practice. (Required)
